What To Do On A Sunday Night

“Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.”So, the week’s over (finally) and the weekend’s getting over too. Yes, you’re right. It’s a Sunday night and you, for sure, want to enjoy it. All your friends are prepping themselves up to go clubbing and you’re not going. Why, because the club is not YOUR kind of place. So, after a lot of persuasion, emotional blackmail and arguments, you’re finally left alone. And now, you’re just standing in the middle of your room, not knowing what to do. Don’t you worry, child. Here are three things you can do on a Sunday evening.

Read: All those who don’t read books, (and are currently thinking of me with disgust), I beg you to hear me out. As J.K. Rowling says, “I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.” Think about it. You don’t have to worry about your impending breakup, you don’t have to procrastinate about laundry, you don’t have to be anxious about that presentation on Tuesday and you don’t have to regret that fight you had with your best friend. Instead, you’re taken a completely different world, where someone else has problems to tackle and all you have to do is pray that they have the strength to endure it.  The words wrap you into a magical rollercoaster ride and for those few precious moments, you can be anything you want.

Dance: If you don’t go to clubs because you can’t stop be conscious of yourself, this is your chance. Go ahead, (since you’re completely alone) nobody’s watching you. Put on your favourite playlist on shuffle, turn up the volume and dance the night away. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a world famous ballet dance or just a crazy loon who knocks elbows while dancer. This is your moment, throw away your worries and savour it.

Clean: If you’re one of those people whose room is eternally scattered with things all over the place (under the guise of creative mess, of course), you can put this time to use. Scrub the floors clean, wipe the windows till they shine, organize the cupboards till everything’s in place or simply throw some rubbish people out of your life. In this way, you won’t have to pretend throughout the week that you can find your way through that pile of clothes. And what’s more, it is said that there’s nothing better for soul searching than a bit of cleaning.

Whatever you do (don’t), remember that this is your moment. Remember to live it to the fullest. Alternatively, you could just dump all this and simply go to sleep.
