Spectacular performance by Team India in 4th ODI vs SOUTH AFRICA

For Indians, cricket is not a sport, it is a religion and its players are the Gods.

Cricket, a sport loved by majority of the vast and divergent nation, is seen as one of India’s proud jewels. For certain matches, one can see almost no traffic on road, for the entire nation is glued to the TV. Every win is celebrated with pomp and show, and every defeat with tears in the eyes.

The Indian Cricket team is hence, under a lot of pressure, but they don’t fail to deliver to their followers; most of the time. This was especially seen in the 5th ODI match against South Africa on the 13th of February, 2018.

Inida won with 73 runs, a staggering success against the team they have never defeated in a bi-lateral series in South Africa. This win ensured that the series has been won by our country. With this victory, the score stands at 4-1 against SA. A match won spectacularly, owing its triumph to Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav. Rohit Sharma scored 115 runs/ 126 balls, with 11 fours and 4 sixes! Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzwendra Chahal broke the record for the most wickets in a bilateral series in South Africa. Together, their wicket count stands at 30 in just 5 matches!

Rohit Sharma, who had not performed up-to the mark in the previous matches of the series, came through in this important match and scored his 17th Century in an ODI. He ensured that India would cross the 200 mark easily and hence received the well-deserved man of the match award.

Kuldeep Yadav too left his mark on the match with his 4 wickets, making him the record holder for most wickets in any series in South Africa.

A major loss for the South African team, but one to be remembered by the Indian team, the match was a treat to view. Virat Kohli is definitely becoming the captain to watch out for.

India has always loved cricket, and it seems that cricket loves India as well.
