Samosa is undoubtedly the favourite snack of the nation, east or west, north or south, samosa is equally loved by all people. It is the perfect delicacy for all moods and drooling over is irresistible.The legacy of samosa had spread worldwide and become popular tea-time snack globally. Though originated from Middle- East, samosas are popular in south asia and other parts of the continent.
Six cities (Birmingham, Manchester, Coventry, Nottinghamshire, Radlett, and Leicester) in the U.K will be hosting National Samosa Week from April 9 to April 13, 2018. The idea was coined by Romail Gulzar, a Leicester based media personality. He is also the founder of Leicester Curry Awards, an award giving ceremony for the best restaurants.
Various stalls selling samosas would be set up. Also, there would samosa eating contests and tastiest samosa awards. The sole purpose of this Samosa week is to raise funds for charity. The amount collected through this fair will be donated to mental health charity LAMP and Care Of Police Survivors (COPS). Romail Gulzar said, a“We want to encourage people all over the UK to buy or make their own samosas this week and sell them at work and school to raise funds for their local community or charities.”
The winners of the National Samosa Week’s prize will win free tickets to the Leicester Curry Awards show, to be held on April 30, 2018, where 30 top restaurants will be competing for the awards under various categories.
All the people in the six cities, where the National Samosa Week would be celebrated, are eagerly waiting to experience heaven in a triangular shaped delicacy and at the same time help raise funds.
