Veteran performing artist Shammi, affectionately referred to in her later years as ‘Shammi Aunty’ has passed away at 89 years old, surrendering to a drawn-out disease.
Shammi started working in motion pictures in 1949 and had a renowned profession in Bollywood spreading over 64 years, more than 200 movies and a few network shows.
Conceived Nargis Rabadi, she exhorted after joining the film business to change her name to Shammi, as there was at that point an on-screen character called ‘Nargis’. Her forté was constantly silly comic parts and she played them with her entire existence. She was frequently found in films with her companions from the business, including Rajesh Khanna, Nargis and Sunil Dutt and Asha Parekh.
Her filmography included motion pictures like Malhar, Dharam Kanta, Kudrat, Jab Phool Khile and some more.
