The second T20 between India and Sri Lanka turned out to be rather one sided affair as the Indian captain took the Lankan bowlers by storm by his strokeplay.
Having won the toss Perrera choose to bowl first again in a batting friendly pitch. For first 4 overs Sri Lanka would have been happy with their performance giving away just 26 runs. But what followed it was just pure batting display from Indian openers especially captain Rohit.
India raced to 100 and Sharma to fifty in just 9th over. Thereafter, each bowler was treated with some fantastic batting skills as India and Sharma further accelerated reaching his hundred in just 35 balls with scoreboard shwoing 11.2 overs and team score reading 148 runs.
After Sharma’s dismissal KL Rahul and Dhoni carried Indian inning posting 260 runs as India lost momentum in the end as wickets fell quickly.
The Lankan innings begun in similar fashion and after loss of first wicket Kusal Perrera and Tharanga stitched a 100 run stand in quick time. For India it was just matter of stoping boundaries and few quite overs meant high run rate. Chahal took wicket of Tharanga and high rate forced Lankan batsman to slog from ballone. After second wicket all batsman felt cheaply as last 9 wickets fell for just 27 runs thus India won match by 93 runs, their highest ever in terms of runs.
Rohit Sharma was adjudged Man of match for his outstanding century.
