Kerala Couple Abandoned Their Child , Reason Will Terrify You !


A  couple from the Thrissur district was arrested for abandoning their newborn child(two days old) at St George Forane Church in Edapally. The 32-year-old man, who abandoned his newborn baby at a church in Kochi, allegedly committed the offence out of the fear that he would be shamed socially for a siring their fourth child. The two have four kids including the abandoned two days old infant.


The heartbreaking part lies in the fact that the mother herself was involved in abandoning the infant. The woman joined her husband is committing the crime before being discharged from the hospital, where she delivered the baby.

During the preliminary probe, Bitto(the father of the abandoned child) told the investigation team that the offence was committed out of fear that they would be shamed socially for siring a fourth child. As the reports confirmed, Bitto confronts that they were being laughed upon by their friends and locals on Prabitha(the mother of the abandoned child) getting pregnant for the fourth time.

The two have been charged under IPC section 317(exposure and abandonment of child under 12 years, by parent or person having the care of it) and Juvenile Justice Act, Section 75 (punishment for cruelty to child).

The CCTV camera footage leaves a proof, showing the couple leaving the child in the premises of the church. The security staff of the church noticed the child at around 8:30 om and soon alerted the police.

The baby was immediately admitted to a private hospital after the incident and the hospital sources said that the baby is healthy now.
