Intel has officially presented its 9th generation of processors, chips that are a refresher of the current coffee lake technology and that provide little new features regarding the 8th generation. It continues with the 14nm and with a gross power per coreless and less attractive compared to the one offered by AMD Ryzen, which are winning interest for his prices and multicore performance.
The flower at the eyelet of the new family was the Intel Core i9-9900K processor, which Intel calls the best game processor in the world. This processor includes eight cores and sixteen threads, and for some reason, Intel calls it the first processor with a similar configuration in the mass market segment. Apparently, two generations of AMD Ryzen 7 processors are no longer considered. The Core i9-9900K processor has a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, the frequencies in Turbo mode for one and two cores are 5.0 GHz, for four – 4.8 GHz and for six and eight cores – 4.7 GHz. The processor has a cache of 16 MB in the third level.
Intel is positioning its new products as an ideal solution for games. According to the manufacturer, the gaming performance of the Coffee Lake Refresh processors has increased by 10% compared to the products of the previous generation. Compared to three-year systems, ie quad-core processors, systems on new processors will deliver 35-45% higher frame rates in games and make a video in Premiere Pro almost twice as fast.
