England V/s India Test 4 : Day 4 Eng Beat Ind By 60 Runs To Clinch Series 3-1


England beat India by 60 runs on Sunday in the fourth Test of the series played in Southampton. With this, England has taken their five-match series 3-1. The fifth Test match will be played at Oval. India’s difficult target of 245 runs but in the second innings the entire team was reduced to just 184 runs.

For India, Kohli scored 58 runs and Rahane scored 51 runs but it was not enough to win. The Indian team, who started chasing the big target on the fourth day of this Test, was faltering at the start. First Rahul (0), then Pujara (5) and then Dhawan (17) got out cheaply. After India lost three wickets for mere 22 runs, Kohli and Rahane made a big partnership of 101 runs. But just before the tea-break, Moin Ali dismissed Kohli and after that, the whole team got scattered.

Although Ashwin made 25 runs in the last moments in front of England bowlers then also he could not make his team win. Sam Curran took Ashwin’s final wicket and gave England the victory.

Rahane tried hard to take the win after hitting a half-century but Moin Ali also dismissed him, after which India’s hopes of victory were completely over. Moin Ali’s was the fourth highest wicket-taker for England. Apart from this, James Anderson and Stokes got 2-2 wickets. Stuart Broad and Sam Karan got one wicket each. Earlier, England scored 246 in the first innings and 271 runs in the second innings to give India challenging target of 245. In the second innings, Jose Butler (46), Joe Root (48) and Karan (46) contributed the most.
