There has been a bomb blast reported in a restaurant in the Bombay Bhel restaurant in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto, Canada on Thursday night at some 10.30pm (3.30am UK time). There were two separate parties going on, in the restaurant when the blast occurred. One of the two parties was a birthday bash for a kid and there were numerous children under the age of ten but, none of them are reported to be injured.
As per the reports, there are almost 15 people dead in the horrific incident, with some injured minutely and severely. There is also heavy damage reported. There are two men suspected to be the hands behind the blast. In his statement, Sergeant Matt Bertram said the men kept down the bucket that seemed to be a paint can and left. The bucket soon exploded. The bucket was filled with projectable objects.
The people injured are aged among the groups of 23 to 69, they were all taken to hospital after the explosion. The three people are said to be injured critically, were taken to Toronto Trauma Centre for treatment, the conditions of the injured are now reported to be stable.
The Peel Regional Police is looking for two unidentified, suspected men who entered the restaurant and “detonated an Improvised Explosive Device,” that later on exploded after their departure. The culprits had their face covered to conceal their identities, the authorities thus, had to prompt the public to help them catch the culprits.
Police Sergeant Matt Bertram also mentioned about having no identification to call this blast an act of terrorism and hatred crime.
The two parties fled away from the scene as soon as the incident occurred. A citizen residing near the restaurant reported about hearing a loud blast. Others also complained about the sound of a loud explosion. The search for culprits is for the time being on, with all the police sources into action.
